Hagia Irene is located in the courtyard of Topkapi Palace in the Sultanahmet neighbourhood of Istanbul. Built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century, it is one of the oldest churches in Istanbul. Hagia Irene, which was not converted into a mosque during the Ottoman period and used as an arms depot, today serves as a museum and concert venue. Hagia Irene, which attracts attention with its history and acoustics, offers a unique venue for classical music concerts and cultural events.
